La Otra América is the first collection of Aconcagua Libros (1997-2002). In 2010 we have taken up this series. From 2013 works have been published in collaboration with the Instituto de Estudios sobre América Latina (University of Seville) and the Laboratorio Iberoamericano para el Estudio Sociohistórico de las Sexualidades, LIESS (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Seville). In the collection Textos Universitarios were also published research on Latin America.
Andalusian Studies. This collection includes collective works involving anthropologists and other social scientists who have studies and research on Andalusia. This collection began in 2012 with the collaboration and sponsorship of the Centro de Estudios Andaluces and the Asociación Andaluza de Antropología.
This section includes:
El Pasado Oculto. Collection emerged to improve knowledge on the historical present of Spanish society. The texts provide a critical and scientific rigor and Aconcagua Libros aims to contribute to public debate over a period of recent history of Spain, which has been deliberately muted for many decades and is now a topical issue in the media.
Memoria Histórica. We publish on various topics related to the Second Spanish Republic, the Spanish Civil War, dictatorship and repression of General Franco and other historical issues.
University Textbooks. From 1999 to the present Aconcagua has been publishing research teachers and university professors texts (especially the University Pablo de Olavide, Sevilla). It is the largest collection of Aconcagua (35 numbers) with varied texts in their subject and their orientation. Some of these books are out of print.
Two collections led by Ramón Soriano (Universidad Pablo de Olavide). The Collection Política y Sociedad (Politics and Society) includes collective works of researchers from various countries. Cuadernos de Derecho, Política y Sociedad are monographs on various topics.
Since 2010, Aconcagua publishes the Revista Internacional de Pensamiento Político / International Journal of Political Thought that encourages, directs and manages the Laboratorio de Ideas y Prácticas Políticas (LIPPO). In http://www.pensamientopolitico.org/ you have open access.
In terms of its orientation, the IJPL is distinguished by: its interdisciplinary character; its emphasis upon critical and theoretical approaches; its commitment to publishing contributions from a diverse range of contributors of both emerging and highly reputed scholars in their field of specialisation; and its continuing interest in serving as a two-way bridge between the Spanish and South-American scholarly communities and the rest of the global invisible college.
We include in this section the first electronic publishing in open access..
Some publications were not included in any collection.
